Cummins Issues New CES 20087 Registered Oils List and Updates CES 20086 List

Inline with the recently introduced API CK-4 and API FA-4 diesel engine oil categories, Cummins has developed two new standards, CES 20086 (for CK-4 oils) and CES 20087 (for FA-4 oils). Cummins has now published its CES 20087 list of API FA-4 registered oils and has updated its CES 20086 list of API CK-4 registered oils.

API's CK-4 and FA-4 Licensed Oils Lists Available

On Thursday, December 1, the American Petroleum Institute's new diesel engine oil standards, API CK-4 and FA-4, began appearing in the marketplace on licensed products. As of this past Saturday, December 10, there were 69 API CK-4 licensed oils and 35 API FA-4 licensed oils on the API lists.

Volkswagen Dropping Diesel Vehicles in United States

In the wake of its huge diesel emissions cheating scandal, Volkswagen said it will no longer sell diesel engine vehicles in the United States, which formerly made up a quarter of Volkswagen's U.S. sales. VW said its focus now shifts to SUVs and electric vehicles. The German automaker said it plans to sell 1 million electric vehicles per year by 2025.


Viva Energy Opens Largest Lubricant Terminal in Australia

Viva Energy Australia celebrated the opening of its new AU$18 (US$13.4) million Pinkenba bulk lubricants terminal, claiming it as the country's largest such facility, having a storage capacity of 3.2 million liters. The terminal is complemented by a third party warehouse, capable of processing more than 14,000 pallets of packaged lubricants annually.

TOTAL Opens Grease Plant in Tianjin, China

TOTAL celebrated the opening of the TOTAL Grease Tianjin plant, its first in the Asia-Pacific region. The new grease plant, located on the site of its largest lubricant blending plant in China, has a production capacity of 5,000 metric tons of lithium- and lithium-complex greases, which can be doubled through a capacity expansion.

Federal-Mogul Motorparts announced the acquisition of the Beck/Arnley brand and certain associated assets. Based in Smyrna, Tennessee, Beck/Arnley is a provider of premium OE (original equipment) quality automotive parts and fluids, including synthetic motor oils, ATFs, and other lubricants for foreign nameplate vehicles in North America.
