Overall synthetics penetration is expected to expand from 17% of total global lubricant demand in 2015 to 22% in 2020, despite low-no volumetric lubricant growth, according to a report from consultancy Kline & Co.

Nynas Naphthenics Posts Lower 3Q 2016 Earnings

Operating earnings before depreciation during the third quarter for Nynas Naphthenics segment decreased to SEK 265 (US$28.5) million (compared to SEK 336 million in the 2015 third quarter). Although third quarter Naphthenics sales revenue decreased compared to the third quarter in 2015, overall sales volumes were up 8 per cent for the quarter.

Hydrodec UK Is Now Slicker Recycling

Hydrodec UK has rebranded itself as Slicker Recycling Ltd., the company announced earlier this month. In March of this year, London-based Hydrodec Group sold its UK operations, Hydrodec UK, to British entrepreneur Andrew Black for £1 (USD1.23) including the transfer of around £1.2 million of existing third-party indebtedness.
