Cummins Issues New CES 20086 Oils List

Inline with the forthcoming API CK-4 and API FA-4 diesel engine oil categories, Cummins has developed two new standards, CES 20086 (for CK-4 oils) and CES 20087 (for FA-4 oils). Cummins has now published its list of API CK-4 oils registered as CES 20086 with the CES 20087 registered oils list soon to be forthcoming.

Shell's Position on New Ford DEO Specification

Last month, Ford Motor issued a position statement that API CK-4 & FA-4 engine oils should not be used in Ford diesel vehicles. Ford recommends that all diesel engine oils meet a new Ford specification WSS-M2C171-F1 in order to be used in Ford diesel vehicles. Shell believes its ROTELLA® CK-4 meets Ford requirements and is acceptable for use.

After the region experienced slow growth during the period 2014 to 2016, finished lubricant demand in Latin America and the Caribbean is forecast to reach 3.9 MT in 2020 and 4.3 MT in 2025, with Brazil, Mexico, and Chile leading the way, according to a report from consultancy Kline & Co.

Chile's Copec Signs Fuel, Lubricant Deal with ExxonMobil

Reuters reported last Wednesday that Chilean industrial conglomerate Empresas Copec said it has signed an agreement with ExxonMobil to produce and distribute lubricants and fuels in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. In 2003, an agreement with ExxonMobil allowed Copec to exclusively market the Mobil brand in Chile.
