Automaker Tesla has selected SK Lubricants as the sole provider of gearbox oil for its Model 3 electric sedan that comes out later next year. With this new Model 3 lubricant volume added to the existing Model S volume, SK’s lubricant supply is expected to almost double to about 140,000 liters annually and potentially surge to 2 million liters per year.

Following price increases by Shell Oil Products US, ExxonMobil, CITGO, Chevron, Valvoline, BP/Castrol and Phillips 66, as reported the past two weeks in the OEM/Lube News, independent lubricant manufacturers D-A and Chemlube International have announced finished lubricant price increases.

Last Thursday morning, it was reported that "Colorado LV I, LLC (dba CAM2 International, LLC) had filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy". Later that afternoon, Jack Baker, CEO, CAM2 International, LLC, sent a letter stating that CAM2 International, LLC had previously completed an asset purchase to include the brand names of Omega Holdings Co, LLC and subsidiary Colorado LV 1, LLC (dba CAM2 International, LLC of Colorado) and it was they, not Cam2 International LLC, that filed for bankruptcy.

Idemitsu, Pak Suzuki and TOTAL Parco Pakistan have renewed the Suzuki Genuine Oil supply contract for another five years. The new contract, originally signed in 2011, was recently signed between Idemitsu and Pak Suzuki to launch a new SGO grade of Semi Synthetic SN 5W30, to be blending and supplied by Total Parco Pakistan.

Chevron Oronite has signed an agreement appointing ABD Energy Solutions Limited as their distributor in Nigeria. The agreement involves not only the sale of OLOA® additives and PARATONE® viscosity modifiers, but also providing technical and laboratory support to customers.
