Chevron Lubricants Makes Leadership Changes

Chevron has announced that Danny Roden, President, Chevron Lubricants will retire on June 30 and will be succeeded by Colleen Cervantes, currently VP, Products Supply and Trading for Chevron. The company also said that effective June 1, Patti Leigh, currently GM, Base Oil, will be GM, Planning & Optimization and Cary Knuth will succeed her as GM, Base Oils.

ExxonMobil Phasing-out Esso Brand in Russia

ExxonMobil has announced the phasing-out of Esso branded oils in Russia which will be rebranded to Mobil lubricants. Since the merger of the Exxon and Mobil in 1999, the Mobil brand has been going from strength to strength, no more so than in Russia where it is consistently ranked as the best-known engine oil brand in the market.

Oxea Expands Production Capacity at Bay City, Texas Plant

Chemical company Oxea announced last Friday the company is proceeding to expand its production platform for oxo products in Bay City, Texas. The expansion, which will increase the plant’s output by 25%, is planned to come on line in the second half of 2014, in conjunction with a scheduled maintenance turn-around.

Shell Sells Egypt Downstream Business to Total

Shell announced last Wednesday it has agreed to sell its Shell Marketing Egypt retail and commercial fuels activities to Total for an undisclosed fee, but the company said it is holding onto the lubricants business, as well as its upstream business in Egypt. Completion of the deal is not expected for “several months”, Shell said.
