Amalie Acquires Delfiin USA Facility
Tampa, Florida-based Amalie Oil Company announced last Monday that it has acquired Delfin Group USA LLC, a lubricant blending and packing center in Charleston, South Carolina, sitting on 42 acres along the Cooper River at the Port of North Charleston. Delfin Group USA has 14 million gallons of tank storage, increasing Amalies total tank storage to 32 million gallons.

Icahn Trumps Bridgestone's Revised Offer for Pep Boys; Bridgestone Bows Out
Only days after Bridgestone raised its previous offer to acquire Pep Boys to $17 per share in cash, or $947 million, investor Carl Icahn trumped that with a $18.50 per share offer last Monday, valuing Pep Boys in excess of $1 billion. The Pep Boys board followed by announcing last week that it will pay a termination fee to Bridgestone to end their agreement. Bridgestone has now bowed out, saying it would not counter Icahn's raised offer.

Shell Exits Oil Depot in Pandacan, Manila
Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. said it has completed the dismantling of its oil tanks in Pandacan, Manila to comply with the Supreme Courts ruling directing the transfer of the oil companies depot outside the city. Shell, Petron Corp. and Chevron Philippines jointly operated the Pandacan oil depot. All three companies have ceased their oil depot operations and exited the depot.

According to AAA One-Third of Americans Ignore Vehicle Maintenance Needs
A recent analysis of AAA roadside assistance data reveals that 35 percent of Americans have skipped or delayed service or repairs that were recommended by a mechanic or specified by the factory maintenance schedule. While problems with batteries, tires and keys are the most common reasons members call AAA for help, there are more than 12 million calls each year related to engine trouble, fuel issues and other mechanical mishaps.

Kraton Performance Polymers Expects to Close Acquisition of Arizona Chemical in January 2016
Kraton Performance Polymers announced last Tuesday that its current expectation is that it will consummate the previously announced acquisition of Arizona Chemical Company in early January 2016. Kraton announced on September 28, 2015 that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire all of the capital stock of privately held Arizona Chemical for $1.37 billion.
