Doug Reid Joins Whitmore as VP Product Development

Whitmore announced last week that Douglas Reid has joined the company as Vice-President of Product Development. He brings more than 20 years of experience to the Whitmore leadership team in the areas of new business development, marketing and product management. Doug will be focused on refining the company’s strategy

“Doug brings significant expertise and hands-on experience in product development and marketing,” said Jeff Kilpatrick, President and CEO of Whitmore. “He understands how to rapidly commercialize new innovations in very demanding industrial markets and brings insights into how Whitmore can accelerate growth in 2016 and beyond.”

Prior to joining Whitmore Doug served as the Vice President of Marketing and Product Management for MeadWestvaco’s paperboard materials business. In that role, he led a team that established the product strategy, developed and commercialized new materials and scaled up new production improvements that reduced costs and increased capacity. He also has held key leadership roles with other major chemical and industrial companies, including Dow-Reichhold (a Dow Chemical joint venture), Avery Dennison and PPG Industries.

“I am excited to be part of the Whitmore organization,” said Doug. “The company has a rich history and a strong portfolio of revolutionary technologies. I look forward to working closely with the team as we continue to expand the business in new lubricant and reliability applications.”

Established in 1893, Whitmore manufactures reliability products, high performance lubricants, friction modifiers, application and inspection equipment, lubrication management systems, coatings and cleaners.
