ExxonMobil Announces Lube Price Increase

In a letter dated April 4, 2013, ExxonMobil announced that it will increase the prices of its branded and unbranded lubricants and greases (i.e. commercial and passenger vehicle and industrial lubricants and greases) by up to 4% effective May 16, 2013. ExxonMobil went on to state that different price treatment may apply to selected products.

Other recent lube price increase announcements include the following:

Shell Oil Products US (SOPUS) announced a general price increase on March 11 of up to 4% on its lubricants effective April 15, 2013.

BP Castrol announced a general price increase on March 29 of up to 4% on all Castrol Passenger Car, Commercial and ancillary lubricants, including synthetics, in all package types effective May 6, 2013.

Petro-Canada advised its marketers in the US on March 13 that the price of its white oils and process oils will increase by 3% effective April 11, 2013.

CAM2 announced on March 22 price increases as follows. Conventional and synthetic blend lubricants sold in bulk will increase by $0.20 per gallon on April 5, 2013. Packaged lubricants will increase by $0.25 per gallon on April 12, 2013. Grease prices will increase by $0.03 per pound. There will be no increase in the price of its synthetics.

Smitty's Supply announced on March 26 a price increase effective April 15, 2013 as follows. Conventional and synthetic blend bulk lubricants will increase by $0.20 per gallon. The price of the same products in packages will increase by $0.25 per gallon. Grease prices will increase by $0.03 per pound. There will be no change in the price of its synthetic lubricants.

Warren Oil announced on March 27 that it will be increasing the price of all conventional and synthetic blend packaged lubricants by $0.25 per gallon effective May 1, 2013. This increase includes motor oils, ATF, gear oils, hydraulic oils, recreational oils, and gas engine oils. Bulk conventional and synthetic blend lubricant prices will increase by $0.20 per gallon effective April 12. Grease prices will increase 0.03 per pound effective May 1, 2013.

Amalie announced a price increase on April 2 of $0.24 per gallon for all oil and automotive chemical products for all Amalie brands, as well as for all private labeled products. Amalie grease products will increase by $0.03 per pound effective May 1, 2013.

Safety-Kleen announced a price increase on its Performance Plus line of finished lubricants of $0.25 per gallon effective April 27, 2013.

Old World Industries announced that it will increase all bulk and packaged conventional and synthetic blend lubricant prices by 0.20 per gallon effective April 15, 2013. Bulk and full synthetic products prices will presently remain unchanged.
