Calumet last week announced it completed the acquisition of Biosynthetic Technologies, LLC, a startup company and developer of proprietary renewable technology focused on the conversion of sustainable plant oils into synthetic base stocks. Calumet plans to develop and commercialize these renewable esters at its existing esters plant in Missouri.

Warren Distribution announced last week it has opened its new lubricant blending plant in Houston, Texas. The new plant has an initial annual blending capacity of 8 million gallons, scalable to 20 million gallons. This addition increases the Company’s blending capacity to over 100 million gallons/year from plants in Iowa, West Virginia, Alabama and, now, Texas.

Tenneco announced last Tuesday that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Federal-Mogul, a leading global supplier to original equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket, from Icahn Enterprises for a total consideration of $5.4 billion.

BP Lubricants USA Inc.last Thursday announced a price increase of up to 10% on its BP and Castrol branded passenger car and commercial lubricants effective May 14, 2018. Castrol attributed the increase to the rising costs of base oils, additives, packaging and transportation.

GP Global (Formerly Gulf Petrochem Group) last week announced it has completed its acquisition of MAG Lube LLC in the United Arab Emirates. MAG Lube is a leading manufacturer of lubricants in the Middle East, distributing its full range of lubricants across the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
