Detroit Diesel has revised its POWER GUARD Oil Specification 93K218 Approved Oils List for use in Series 50, Series 60, MBE 900, MBE 4000, and DD15 engines. The oils added include motor oils marketed by Bardahl de Mexico S.A.de C.V., Chevron Global Lubricants, ConocoPhilips, Lubricantes de America S.A de C.V., Mexicana de Lubricantes S.A de C.V., North American Lubricants, Northland Products Company, Petro-Canada, Schaeffer Manufacturing and Wal-Mart Canada.

YRC Worldwide Inc. has announced that it is accelerating its integration strategy, focusing on the corporation's two largest operating subsidiaries, Yellow Transportation and Roadway. Since acquiring Roadway, the company has reduced duplicate back- office functions, shared technology applications, formed common management teams and, most recently, combined corporate sales.

According to an article this past week appearing in Diesel Progress and in a variety of press reports, the mid-range truck business that GM had previously planned to sell to Navistar may be headed to Isuzu. Last month, Navistar International and GM decided not to renew a memorandum of understanding through which Navistar would purchase GM's medium duty truck business.

Caterpillar has approved the use of B20 biodiesel across its range of compact and mid-range engines. These engines join the previously B30 approved C7 ACERT® through C32 ACERT® and Cat's 3400 and 3500 series engines. Caterpillar believes the growth of biodiesel as a fuel source and the move to higher percentage blends makes approval of this fuel source a strategic market advantage for OEMs and end users.

Manitou, manufacturer of construction, agricultural and industrial fork lifts and trucks, announced last week the launch of a friendly take over U.S. compact construction equipment manufacturer Gehl in a $331 million deal to raise Manitou's presence in American market. Gehl construction equipment includes excavators, skid loaders, all-wheel steer loaders, track loaders, asphalt pavers and telescopic handlers.
