In its Service Bulletin 175-61, Volvo Trucks North America, Greensboro, NC, last month revised its Approved VDS-4 Engine Oils list (and VDS-2 for engines meeting the emission requirements of 2004 and older Volvo engines) which also contains its Approved Transmission Oils list.

Eaton has revised its Roadranger Products Approved Lubricants List (TCMT0020) which contains lubricants approved by Eaton and Dana for use with the Roadranger Extended Warranties, including 500,000 mile Extended Drain Lubricants for Transmissions - Eaton Specification: PS-164 R7, and for Drive Axles - Dana Specification: SHAES-256 Rev C and SHAES 429.

Back in 2007, General Motors began publishing a list of approved suppliers and oils, including respective license numbers on its Web site for its DEXRON®-VI automatic transmission fluid, in an effort to make it easier for prospective customers to know which companies have official licenses. GM has since added many additional suppliers and oils to this list.

ConocoPhillips recently announced that it has added the exclusive Liquid Titanium® additive to the majority of its Kendall® GT-1® Motor Oils, including synthetic blend, full synthetic and high mileage offerings. The new Kendall GT-1 Motor Oils engineered with Liquid Titanium are designed to help reduce friction, fight engine wear and most importantly, prolong engine life, according to ConocoPhillips Lubricants.

Chevron last month announced that after conducting extensive field tests since 2000 in nearly two-dozen Volvo D12C engines using Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), Delo® 400 LE SAE 15W-40 showed exceptional performance in the areas of durability, reliability and the reduced production of incombustible materials in the DPF.

South Milwaukee-based heavy mining equipent OEM Bucyrus International, Inc. has announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the mining equipment business of Terex Corporation for US$1.3 billion in cash. The mining equipment business of Terex produces the world's largest hydraulic excavators, rugged haul trucks, advanced drilling machines, and highwall mining systems including equipment under the O&K, Unit Rig, Reedrill, Superior Highwall, Halco, and Hypac.brand names.
